💳 How Payment Works
I accept major credit cards, including HSA/FSA cards (check your plan for eligibility). Payment is due at the time of service and is processed securely through a HIPAA-compliant system. I never see your full card data.
Insurance & Superbills
🧾 Thinking About Using Insurance?
I’m considered an out-of-network provider. This means I don’t bill insurance directly. However, if your plan includes out-of-network mental health coverage, you may be able to submit receipts (called superbills) to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
I can provide a superbill on request.
A diagnosis is required for a superbill and becomes part of your permanent medical record.
Insurance companies may request access to your treatment records.
📋 What to Ask Your Insurance Company
If you’re considering submitting a superbill, here are questions to ask your provider:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
What percentage of the fee is reimbursed?
Is there a deductible I need to meet?
Do I need pre-authorization?
How do I submit superbills? Is there a deadline?
Will the reimbursement come directly to me?
Medicare
🩺Medicare Notice
As of January 1, 2024, marriage and family therapists are allowed to bill Medicare. I’ve chosen to opt out of this system and am not a Medicare provider. You’ll find a notice of this in your intake paperwork.
Learn more here about Medicare coverage for MFTs (you will be taken to a CMS.gov page).
Good Faith Estimate (Rates Transparency)
📜 Good Faith Estimate
As required by law, I provide a Good Faith Estimate for clients who are not using insurance. You’ll find this in your intake paperwork. You can also read more here.
